by photochick~ So now it's like what month . . . MARCH, and I STILL have an itunes gift card I received for Christmas that hasn't been used. How sad is that?

I looked around a bit tonight, but all I came up with was a few fun and silly 80's songs like Walk Like an Egyptian and These Boots are Made for Walkin. (singer- one guess where I remember BOTH of these songs from??? i bet you never guess!)

So singerchick, hook a girl up with some suggestions! What new songs are you singing at church??? I really would like to buy some praise and worship songs.

my music

by socialchick~ Ever since Miss Priss was a baby she would listen to TobyMac Diverse City CD and stop crying and sit back and relax. Well still to this day she loves Toby Mac. She calls it "my music" and wants to listen to it every time we get in the car. There has been yelling sessions over the CD. I must say that I'm a little tired of the CD.

Well "my music" aka TobyMac came to a city near us and we decided to take Miss Priss to see him. She was so excited that she wouldn't take a nap. She talked the entire way and kept asking where "my music" is? We finally got to the concert and there were 5 other groups that came out before Toby. It was Winter Jam. So around 8 p.m. Toby finally hit the stage and Miss Priss was so excited. She clapped one time and probably saw one move and out she went. I looked over at Mr. Social and Miss Priss was asleep on his shoulder. Well at least she saw "my music" dance one step.

Side note we went with Sassys family, Singers family, and A&Js family. Boy have times changed since I was in youth. If you had accepted Christ during something like this they would always call you to the back to pray with you and give you a packet. Well now days you text a number and they send you a packet or you can email them. No more leaving the concert. I felt a little old.

  by photochick~ I love Christmas music. As a matter of act, I was listening to it BEFORE Thanksgiving on our local 98.5. (socialchick and singerchick are rolling their eyes as they read this, I know)

So many songs, so little time. We must get started EARLY! I've been teaching Punkin Christmas songs during our morning and afternoon drive. So far we've conquered Rudolph, The Red Nosed Reindeer, Deck the Halls, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. So much fun.

I have so many favorites, it's hard to choose, but definately one of my all time favorites is Oh Come Let Us Adore Him. So classic and beautiful. My favorite is when singerchick would sing it during praise and worship in let's say, July. Such a beautiful worship song any time of the year.

So, today's contest is none other than . . . drumroll please . . . what is your favorite Christmas song? Feel free to include a really sappy story (but true) about why the song has a special meaning to you, or just how you and your kids dance around the living room in your jammies on Christmas morning.

by singerchick~ I'm a diverse kind of chick and I like all kinds of music.  Such as p&w, prophetic, pop "dancy" music and rock.  Yes I said rock.  I can't help it, I'm married to Mr. Rock Till You Drop.  So I want to share a "rockin" song that I've been singing for a week now.  If you listen to WayFM very much then you've heard it. 

The name of it is All Around Me by Flyleaf.  It's about having an intimate experience with God, being in his presence, realizing his presence and finding healing. I realize some people may not like it (grambe and pappy) :-P.  So first let me share the words because they're awesome.

on the road

by cubanchick~  well, i figured i better take advantage of the internet here.  so i am writing again!

we are at a small town to the north west of us.  which means i am in a tiny town on the southern part of alabama.  i'm not too far from home but far enough to stay in a hotel for a few days.  in comparison to my classroom ratrace, this has been pretty relaxing so far.

i say relaxing, but our first day did not pan out as we had hoped. our first day was last week in a different town, (the day i got off of school when trained and headed off to work).  the computers were down and we had to do paper applications for each applicant which took much longer and of course, us rookies left out a bunch of information.

i will say that the small drives alone have been enjoyable.  the alabama terrain is hillier that florida and it's so pretty.  the town we're in today is so cute and picturesque.  for lunch we went to this cafe that had a small deli.  as we waited for our food, i couldn't help but wish my hometown had something like that.  between the heavily and cafe-ish decorated walls and the partitioned area for computers (the partitions were old doors painted in different colors) gave this cafe such a downhome character.  so far, this cafe has made the trip for me.  i feel like Guy on the food network's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.  We're looking out for unique fantastic places! 

we're wrapping up this first day here and the fact that i am ble to write a blog is amazing to me!  while teaching there is never a spare moment.  i'll keep everyone in touch on my road trips!!!  but i will try to keep the repetitive stuff out.. have a great afternoon all!

Summer Song

by plannerchick ~ So I had to share this song, it is my current favorite! It's not a Christian artist, but I am loving the vibe and feel of the song. It's so summery and chill.

I asked several people yesterday if they had heard of this artist, and everyone said no, he had another song out a few years back that I really liked as well. He's just not super well known. Anyways, I could only find the video to listen to, so check it out below.

The song is called "I'm Yours", and the artist is Jason Mraz. I loves it!

legally blonde

by babychick~ a couple of weeks ago MTV had a showing of Legally Blonde the Musical. I have never been a fan of broadway musicals, maybe because i've never seen any good ones. i love the musicals like Sound of Music, Oklahoma, and State Fair, i could watch those all the time.

well when i started watching Legally Blonde i was instantly hooked. i recorded it with my dvr(which is the best invention yet) and i literally have watched or listened to it 10 times. i hinted to my husband that i might like the soundtrack for Christmas or something. i don't think he got it.
