by singerchick~ Our Labor Day weekend was pretty good. The first part of the weekend, we spent at the beach with my parents. For the most part the time there was relaxing and enjoyable. There was just one mishap. And let me tell you it was a huge mishap. Come to think of it, a horrible nightmare. One I will never (if I can at all help it) experience again. No, social and I did not throw down in the middle of Ross. But it was equally bad, just in a different way.
We were all out on the beach enjoying the beautiful day when my husband, the father of my children, the one who promised to love and cherish me all the days of my life, dumped a bag of cheetos on the ground. Well, if you've ever been to the beach you know what happened next. Literally hundreds (well maybe not hundreds but a lot) of birds flocked over to where we were to fight for a snack. A cheesy, greasy snack. They were not afraid of us. They only cared about getting at those cheetos.
My mom is terrified of birds, and that's the understatement of the century, so she was freaking out. I was just kind of standing there, sort of laughing and trying to get out of their way. That's when things went from a little bad to horrible. I felt a big bump on my head and thought one of them had swooped down and hit me in the head. So I did what any ordinary person would do when thought she just got hit in the head. I reached up to rub my head.
What I found was worse than any baby diaper I've ever changed. It was bird poo! Cheeto bird poo no less! I screamed, freaked out and asked for someone to help me. What I got was my family laughing and pointing as if to say, "Who is that crazy lady running around who doesn't know how to get bird poo out of her hair?"
It may be a little bit true that "the only guy a girl can depend on is her daddy." (What movie is that from?) Because in the end my daddy was willing to help me out when all Mr. Singer could do was be mad at me for acting like a child. Excuse me, I think I was validated this once. :-)
So I did put on my big girl panties and go up to the showers to wash "it" out of my hair. When I returned I was met by a random guy who said, "How did that work out for you?"
I was mortified!

Dear Photochick,
We realize that you may not even remember that today's your birthday. That's what happens to mamas. We tend to forget our birthdays as we're so wrapped up in diaper changing, baby feeding, wiping hineys, getting meals for our little ones, doing laundry, getting snuggles and kisses and the list goes on . So let us remind you that today is indeed your birthday and we wish you a very happy one!
We love you,
the chicks
Now for fun, let's write silly birthday songs for photochick. I'll start.
Happy Birthday to you
You might feel like you live in a zoo
Because you have two tiny boys
And a husband too!

by singerchick~ I just wanted to share my special delivery. I received this bouquet of flowers this morning at work from my sweety.
Today is our 9th anniversary. The past nine years have held so many things for us from that first year of getting to know each other and getting in huge fights that ended in someone's clothes being thrown out in the yard (not mentioning which one of us was cruel enough to do that. ;-) to many beautiful memories and the birth of our amazing little boys. Life is interesting with Mr. Singer by my side but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Mr. Singer makes it his mission in life to do nothing that's typical or stereotypical or expected. He's weird like that. So I was surprised when I got the flowers from him. A very typical thing to do for one's wife on their anniversary. He defended himself by saying it wasn't roses and he says he's never had flowers sent to me before. So in his mind he's not conforming, but I think he may be bending a little. I love him regardless!!

by socialchick~ Yes I know I have been MIA but I am alive. It has been a busy summer and I have just been a little lazy at times. I am so sorry! I'm going to try to get better.
As I have already mentioned it has been a busy summer. We have spent many weekends down at the beach, and have actually gotten to take a family vacation. This was our first family vacation by ourselves. It had its pros and cons.
Pros being that you didn't have to consider anyone else when deciding what to do, where to eat, what time to go.
Cons being that no one was there to give you a time out of a date night away from the kids.
We decided to take the girls to Sea World and they had a blast. While we were there we also ate on the patio of Rain Forest Cafe and enjoyed strolling around at Down Town Disney. Here are some pictures of our busy summer. Sorry there are so many but I have been away for a while. lol!

by plannerchick ~ What up folks! Look at me blogging again! I have spent the morning doing some stuff for my hubs online to do with his teaching certification. My secretary genes run deep, a little bit I enjoy doing a little real work. I finished that about an hour and a half ago, and have spent the rest of the morning working on our women's retreat. It's coming along quite nicely.
Sassy did an excellent job teaching at church last night! She really spoke to me personally, what she said hit home! Snaps for Sassy on a job well done! God used you big time! After church, Sassy, Singer, me, and another friend had church again in the parking lot. I love my friends so much, I am so thankful for them, thier honesty, thier openness, and just having them. I am SOOO blessed! God is moving people, my heart is literally beating violently inside of my chest (another throw back to the song "How He loves us"). His love is so amazing, He is always working for us, always pulling for us, always loving us. I cannot say enough about Him. Encounter Him today, enjoy Him, bask in Him, accept His love!
Hubby and I are going on a real live date tomorrow night! I am super excited, it will be nice to get away for an evening just the 2 of us! I love when we get to do it. I think all couples should take time just for each other, even if you go to McDonalds and then for a drive or a walk, just spend some time together!
Since photochick blogged about couponing, I have been doing some research on how to do it seriously, and I am super excited to try it out. I stress try, b/c if it is way to much then I'll be done with it, but if I can save us some major money then it will be worth it! I will be headed out to get the local big city papers on Sunday morning! I also read this blog about how to work CVS's extra care buck to your advantage, I might try that out as well, we will have to see! It seems a bit complicated!
Still working on my photos, I want to get some on the wall. I literally have six large frames for my living room, and no idea how to place them or what pics to put in them. I'll decide one day. I am also trying to get my pics to where they are some how organized for me to print with out tons of reprints or the same style of pic. (I am bad about taking 20 pics of the same thing to get one that I love) Anyone have any good digital photo organizing advice b/c I will take it!
I'm off to get lunch for the fam!! Peace and love folks!

by socialchick~The other day I was sitting behind someone who said something out loud that was so funny but I can't remember what she actually used. It was her way of cussing with out cussing. You know, like when people yell son of a gun, shoot, or made up things like, mother of wind, or gosh dang it. So this got me thinking. Who says that a cuss word is a cuss word?
If I teach my girls not to say the word tree because it is a bad word and singerchick tells her boys it is fine then my girls feel like the boys are cussing when they say the word tree. I am the one who made tree a cuss word for my girls. So aren't cuss words just a man made thing that society has made bad. Which leads me to my next point.
Do you feel like some one who cusses or says a bad word every once in a while is not a very strong spiritual person? Does cussing mean that someone is going to hell or that he or she isn't anointed or doing the will of God. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying for all of us to go around cussing and dropping the "F" bombs all of the time. I'm just wondering how you view a person who cusses.
I know that saying a cuss word isn't setting the best example as a christian person but is saying something that is like a cuss word any better. Once again let me say that I don't want everyone going around cussing all of the time. Don't hear me wrong. I'm not saying that if you cuss you are a bad person and I'm not telling you that it is alright to cuss. I'm just wondering.
True story. Our bug man came to our house a couple of years ago and saw a picture of a snake that we had killed in our yard. I saw him looking at the snake and commented to him "that's a big mo fo snake!" He went on and on how he couldn't believe that I said something like that and that would come out of the mouth of a preachers daughter. I didn't think it was that bad and to be honest I'm sure there has been worse come out of this mouth before. lol!
So what are some things that you say instead of saying actual cuss words. For instance instead of saying God my sister-in-law will yell out Bob. It is funny! What do you say to let out frustration or pain?

by plannerchick ~ Okay, I know that I have been MIA for awhile, and for that I apologize. There has been a lot going on, I just haven't taken the time to sit down and actually blog. I will try to do better!
Anyways so I decided to share something about my past, some may know this and some may not.
When I graduated high school I was all set to go to Juco, I was enrolled and everything, classes chosen the works. I was "dating" and I use the term dating loosely, we'll go with I was friends with a guy who had decided to go to work for a ministry out of California that did assembly programs in schools all over the country. He was telling me all about it one night, and I went home and just could not get it out of my mind. I began to think more and more about it, and sat down with my Aunt crying. I told her that I didn't even know everything about what this job was, but that I knew that I knew that God wanted me to go. The next day I called and interviewed over the phone, was hired, and a month later was on a plane to Los Angeles.
I spent 3 years with this company, I made a few lifelong friendships, grew up a lot, and spent 2 of those years traveling all over the country (one year working in thier LA office). I have been to about 40 states, met amazing familes and people all over. They paid for all of my expenses: food, travel, and gave me $450 a month, which to me at the time was a jackpot.
I spent every day with a new group of teenagers hanging out and sharing with them. It was hard, hard work. Early mornings, setting up the program, running it, and then tearing it all back down - normaly twice a day, and then traveling onto a new city to do it again the next day. Sometimes a couple hundred miles in a night.
But oh, it was oh so worth it. Such an amazing experience that I am so glad I got to have. There were some crazy times, and things that now I cannot believe I did, so thought that I would share with you my personal top 10 (in no particular order (listen to me sounding all pageanty))!
1. I met the band "Everything" (they sang the song "whose got the hooch" a one hit wonder) while they were filming a video on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood.
2. I have been horseback riding in the moutains of Estes Park, CO. It was beautiful.
3. NYC has a few for me - I spent my 18th birthday in NYC, I was flat broke, but it was awesome. I have been ice skating in Central Park at Christmas time, and while I was skating it started snowing it was like I was in a movie. I have been to the Macy's Thanksgiving parade. I have driven, in a 2 ton van, through downtown NYC, I drove right past Madison Square Garden, it was one of the scariest things that I have ever done.
4. I have been to a taping of King of Queens (with Kevin James and Leah Remini)
5. I was treated to a lobster dinner on the coast of Maine, but I ordered chicken, lol!
6. While in Boston, I threw tea in the harbor.
7. I have been to the Von Trapp family lodge in Vermont which is owned by the real Sound of Music family. Some of them were even buried there.
8. I have been stranded with a flat tire in the middle of the Arizona dessert - I got sunburned in like 20 minutes.
9. I broke my toe falling down the stairs to a basement during an ice storm in Pittsburg.
10. I have driven 20 hours straight from Torrington, CT to south of Savannah, GA. That was my longest record, which was beaten crazily by several of my friends, lol!
There are so many more, but I kept it down to 10, lol! If you want to check out the company that I worked for you can go to www.camfel.com .
