by bossychick~ Why is there such a stigma about using a baby harness? You know what I 'm talking about right? It's sometimes like a back-pack, with a strap, or just a band around the chest with a straps over the shoulders, with a strap, that the parent can hold onto.

Most people call it a baby leash. I call it clever. I have used these "leashes" with all three of my chicklets, and loved it!

When The Boy was born, Big Girl was 2 years old. Going in Wal-Mart presented a challenge, huge infant carrier, that nearly filled the the back of the buggy, Big Girl in the front, and NO room for groceries.

So I decided to purchase a harness, it was fantastic!!! Big Girl could have her "big girl" independence, without the worry of her getting out of my sight, The Boy's carseat could sit in the front and the whole buggy was free for groceries! For me using the harness was love at first buckle, lol!

Well these days those two have long past that stage, but Baby Girl, who is definitely her father's child (super inquisitive, and super busy), is always on the go. So, again I purchased a baby harness.

I get all kinds of comments and looks,( I would like to say- I really could care less what other people think) such as...

" Do you have that baby on a leash!?!?!?" followed by a disapproving scowl, or "What is that some kinda dog leash for a baby!?!?"

To which I want to respond, "So the minute you hear "code Adam" over the intercom, for a 18 month old blond girl in a pink sweater, you're gonna run right over and find me and console me because my baby is lost, right? And if she's not found in a few minutes you're going to personally organize a search party and parole the parking lot, right? And, if she happens to wander up to you, you're going to translate, "baaba, dah, dah, dohwn, yahs"  into, "my mom is close to 6 feet tall, has curly hair, brown eyes, a frantic 'I just lost my baby look' and may or may not have 2 other kids with her, RIGHT?"

So back to my original question...why the stigma? Put your mind around this people...

We put our babies in a 5-point restraint, and call it cute because it comes in fashion colors (shout out to Colin C.- for use of the phrase fashion colors), this would be a carseat...

We put our babies in a 3-point restraint, sometimes 5-point, on wheels and call it cute because it also comes in fashion colors, this would be a stroller... 

We put our babies in a metal cage on wheels and strap them to it, this would be a grocery buggy...

All in the name of safety and cuteness, but you can't see the point of me putting a harness on my baby so she can actually get some physical activity, instead of sitting idle in a buggy, or crying, while I'm shopping!!!!!! really? really?

Like I said, I don't care what other people think, it just annoys me, that most people don't think before they speak, and if you know me, you know that I'm outspoken, and might be thinking, I should think more before I speak, all I can say to that is... if you only knew what I don't say...

The only people who act happy about the use of it are older people, they always say "That is the best idea I've ever seen". Thank you!

by bossychick~ yesterday, The Boy, Big Girl, and Mr. Bossy were having a Wii tournament.

I walk through the living room and Mr. Bossy is laughing and tells The Boy to tell me what he said...

This is what went down...

The Boy: ( to Big Girl) Do you kow what an orchestra is?

Big Girl: ( very delighted, because this was one of her vocab words) YES!, Its.... (and she gives him her text book definition)

The Boy: well, if you were in it, I'd call it a dork-estra!

by bossychick~ If you saw the post I did the other day with the ruffle bottom pants on Baby Girl, then you should know that I can't get enough of them.

Planner also thinks they are cute and since she doesn't have a little girl, yet, and she herself is a very girly girl, she likes to pick out material when I make outfits, and I like another opinion so it works out for both of us.

by bossychick~ I have some very exciting news.....

NNNNNNNOOOOOOOO I am not pregnant!

Today before lunch Mr. Bossy went to the store, when he returned this is what he would have found, had I let him in the bathroom...

 

Yes, I was cutting my own hair! I wouldn't let him in because I wasn't finished. I told him yesterday that I wanted something different, very different. He just shrugged his shoulders and offered no suggestions. (sound familiar? Social? Sassy?)

If you know me then you know I'm not patient, so I went in the bathroom, got my scissors, said a prayer and started cutting.....

the more I cut the more nervous my stomach became( note the very long piece of hair on the side of the sink) I was thinking, Mr. Bossy has never seen me with short hair, in fact my hair hasn't been this short in almost 20 years! ( I feel so old, 20 years)

I finished cutting, dried it, styled it, and walked out anxiously awaiting Mr. Bossy's reaction.

I'm standing there, bighting my lip, hoping he doesn't say that its hideous.... 

He looks at me and says, Why were you so worried it looks exactly the same. Exactly the same?!? Minus 12 inches!, I said.

Well I like it but, I would like a more professional cut in the back, maybe some stacking, so I called Brittany, and told her what I had done.

I felt like a kid in 3rd grade telling the teacher I had just cheated on a test, I told her its not bad it just needs more and I can't reach the back, she just laughed and made me an appointment for tomorrow.

So here is my hair.... (and Social, shut your fat lip, lol, I can hear you now saying, "I knew you would go short, I thaid it", lisp and all, lol)

by bossychick~ I am LIVID, because of what Kanye West did to Taylor Swift. I am not her biggest fan but, she didn't deserve this....

I would like to say that I think, Beyonce is truly a good person, and I am so glad that she did this...

the fantastic 4.... a year later

by bossychick~today was Super Baby's birthday party, and the four chicks who had babies in '08 have vowed to take a picture of the four babies every six months, at Lil Sis' birthday and Super Baby's birthday.

We all know that the tradition of this will get very old to the babies as the years go by, but we think it will be soooo cute when they're grown, to have these photos. (Planner is smiling to herself reading this right now, lol)

Today proved to be a challenge, getting four one year olds to look at the camera all at once, to keep the steady ones from pulling down the wobbly ones, maybe get a smile, anyway you'll see what I mean. I just hope that Mimi got one, where all of them look good! I'm posting all the ones I took because they are sooo precious to me, even though everybody in the pic isn't happy.

by bossychick~ well, my latest sewing endeavor has been pants with a ruffle on the bottom, and I love how they've turned out.

I think Baby Girl looks so cute in them! I can't get enough of them and I think Social feels the same. (I will have to mention that Sassy sings Age of Aquarius every time she sees them)

Sham WOW

by bossychick~I'm sure by now you have all seen that very annoying commercial for Sham Wow, the super absorbent cloth that claims every time you use it you'll be sayin'"Wow". Well I have discovered something that makes me say wow every time I use it.
