by singerchick~ Do you ever hear a song that just really touches your heart, ministers to you or just moves you in a big way? God has always spoken to me through music and some of my most precious times of visiting with Him have been in my car after listening to a song.
I have to say it's been a while since I've heard a song that really touched my heart. But last Wednesday night while driving from work to church I was listening to WAY-FM and Wally on TotalAxxess was interviewing David Crowder. A song that was new for him was played, How He Loves Us. It was beautiful and simple and it ministered to me that night.
Later I was talking to Planner and she asked me if I had heard this song. Long story short, she had heard it at the same time as I had and she LOVED it as well. In the interview with David Crowder he had explained how he thought the song was new but later found out that several other artists had recorded it so I went in search of the other versions and what I found was amazing.
I found the following video sung by Kim Walker recorded at a Jesus Culture conference. It is wonderfully anointed! Just watch....
Here's another I found. This is the guy that wrote the song, John Mark McMillan and he tells the "story" behind the song.
Here are the words in case you're like me and need to know the words. Be Blessed!
He Loves Us, John Mark McMillan
He is jealous for me
Love's like a hurricane
I am a tree
Bending beneath the weight of
His wind and mercy
When all of a sudden, I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory
and I realize just how beautiful You are and how great your affections are for me.
Oh, how He loves us
Oh, how He loves us
How He loves us so.
Yeah, He loves us
Oh how He loves us
Oh how He loves us
Oh how He loves
We are His portion and
He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption
by the grace in His eyes
If grace is an ocean, we're all sinking
So heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss and my heart turns
violently inside of my chest
I don't have time to maintain these regrets when I think about the way
He loves us,
whoa, how He loves us
whoa, how He loves us
Whoa, how He loves
I have watched this several times and everytime I tear up. This is so moving that if you don't fell something when you watch both videos then you better check your self. Get the tissues ready!

I love this song. The first person I ever heard sing it was Rita Springer. Talk about falling on your face......amazing how God can do that.
