by photochick~ D-Day is tomorrow! I had to do my pre-op today and had a regularly schedule appointment with the ob, both were late in the afternoon. Considering how far away we live and would have to turn around and drive home and then get up again and leave at 3 a.m. to be back at the hospital by 5 a.m., we decided just to stay in a hotel tonight.
I know it was the smartest decision, but my hormones are going crazy and I just want to be at home in my own bed with my big punkin having a special snuggle night with us. We left him behind with the grandparents, so he's not with us. That's probably the hardest part. Those maternal hormones are strong right now and I just want him under my wing all the time. It doesn't help that I know it will be several days before we are at home again with him, and many more before things are remotely normal.
Singerchick- remember how you felt about your big man right after birth? I'm feeling the same way about an almost 4-year-old. Talk about hormone induced craziness.
He, on the other hand, is happy as a lark fishing with his Paw Paw. That's all that really matters.
So enough of the totally unfounded tears. I'm headed to bed! I'll try to get someone to keep you posted tomorrow and should have a photo by Saturday. A little something moe interesting . . . this is the thank you note I used for all of my fellow teachers following a diaper shower they gave me. Our school mascot (including mine and my husband's alma mater) is the bobcats, so of course we loved it.
And boy did we love the diaper shower . . .
1244 diapers . . . $450.00
1164 wipes . . . $75.00
Fewer trips to Walmart . . . Priceless!
I am so excited to come and meet him tomorrow!!! I can't believe it's already here! love you bunches!

You're probably in bed now knowing that this is the last night you have of real uninterupted sleep, but I just want you to know that while those emotions are crazy right now you know that everything will be fine. I'm praying for you and can't wait to meet our brand new chicklet. I'll see you tomorrow!

I remember that feeling of leaving Miss Priss behind. I don't know what was worse leaving her or her leaving me in the hospital. She didn't want much to do with me at first but that has all changed now. All he will ever remember is fishing with Paw Paw and then having a little brother.
