by plannerchick ~ Okay, I know that I have been MIA for awhile, and for that I apologize. There has been a lot going on, I just haven't taken the time to sit down and actually blog. I will try to do better!
Anyways so I decided to share something about my past, some may know this and some may not.
When I graduated high school I was all set to go to Juco, I was enrolled and everything, classes chosen the works. I was "dating" and I use the term dating loosely, we'll go with I was friends with a guy who had decided to go to work for a ministry out of California that did assembly programs in schools all over the country. He was telling me all about it one night, and I went home and just could not get it out of my mind. I began to think more and more about it, and sat down with my Aunt crying. I told her that I didn't even know everything about what this job was, but that I knew that I knew that God wanted me to go. The next day I called and interviewed over the phone, was hired, and a month later was on a plane to Los Angeles.
I spent 3 years with this company, I made a few lifelong friendships, grew up a lot, and spent 2 of those years traveling all over the country (one year working in thier LA office). I have been to about 40 states, met amazing familes and people all over. They paid for all of my expenses: food, travel, and gave me $450 a month, which to me at the time was a jackpot.
I spent every day with a new group of teenagers hanging out and sharing with them. It was hard, hard work. Early mornings, setting up the program, running it, and then tearing it all back down - normaly twice a day, and then traveling onto a new city to do it again the next day. Sometimes a couple hundred miles in a night.
But oh, it was oh so worth it. Such an amazing experience that I am so glad I got to have. There were some crazy times, and things that now I cannot believe I did, so thought that I would share with you my personal top 10 (in no particular order (listen to me sounding all pageanty))!
1. I met the band "Everything" (they sang the song "whose got the hooch" a one hit wonder) while they were filming a video on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood.
2. I have been horseback riding in the moutains of Estes Park, CO. It was beautiful.
3. NYC has a few for me - I spent my 18th birthday in NYC, I was flat broke, but it was awesome. I have been ice skating in Central Park at Christmas time, and while I was skating it started snowing it was like I was in a movie. I have been to the Macy's Thanksgiving parade. I have driven, in a 2 ton van, through downtown NYC, I drove right past Madison Square Garden, it was one of the scariest things that I have ever done.
4. I have been to a taping of King of Queens (with Kevin James and Leah Remini)
5. I was treated to a lobster dinner on the coast of Maine, but I ordered chicken, lol!
6. While in Boston, I threw tea in the harbor.
7. I have been to the Von Trapp family lodge in Vermont which is owned by the real Sound of Music family. Some of them were even buried there.
8. I have been stranded with a flat tire in the middle of the Arizona dessert - I got sunburned in like 20 minutes.
9. I broke my toe falling down the stairs to a basement during an ice storm in Pittsburg.
10. I have driven 20 hours straight from Torrington, CT to south of Savannah, GA. That was my longest record, which was beaten crazily by several of my friends, lol!
There are so many more, but I kept it down to 10, lol! If you want to check out the company that I worked for you can go to www.camfel.com .

Thank you for sharing your adventures. I learned that when you serve the Lord, we experience adventures like what you shared. I sense that you were blessed by doing what you did and it helped you grow like you wouldn’t have imagined.
Let’s keep on serving the Lord with all the possessions we have and the talents and abilities that he has given us. As the end time arrives, it will get more challenging. I pray that we, as God’s body will stick together and keep on encouraging others in our adventures.
