by bossychick~ The boy has reading home work every night, which he reads to himself, and then out loud to me. Every now and again he mis-pronounces something, because when reading to himself he guesses at the word if he can't figure it out, for instance...
He sits down gets his book ready and starts reading, like this... "Smile Cinnamon was a pieman". I said "what?". He says, "Smile Cinnamon".
I looked at the page and said "son that says Simple Simon".
He grinned up at me and said, "Smile Cinnamon was my best guess."
On a different assignment he was reading to me and says, "musical voice monkey", and once again I said "what?"
It was mischievous monkey.
That is all, you do what I say- Bossy
I say well done, it was pretty close.

I don't think I have heard anything quite so imaginative in a long time, and I have been working in and elem. school for 16 years.
My favorite is Smile Cinnamon.
