by plannerchick ~ Not much to blog about today, so I thought I would blog about my 10 favorite movies. Feel free not to read, but if you do, leave me a comment with your favorite movie or movies and why you love them!
1. Kiss Me Kate - Yes, surprise, surprise this is a musical, my favorite of all time actually. It was written by Cole Porter, and is a musical about a musical version of the Taming of the Shrew. It is so much fun, most people have not seen this so let me know if you have.
2. My Best Friends Wedding - If you are alive and are a female then you have most likely seen this movie and loved it. What is not to love about it, romance, sarcasm, and an unlikely ending. The girl does not get the guy in this one, and thats what makes it so great. Plus it has awesome opening credits, (the bride dancing and singing) and yes, I know the movements and can act it out with her! This is one of mine and bossychicks favorite movies to quote. "Do you know what I mean, okay good, so do I"
3. White Christmas - Again, surprise, another musical! Bing Crosby, Danny Kay, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera Ellen, singing and dancing to an assortment of great songs. Great Christmas movie, gets me in the Christmas spirit every time. In fact I think that it's about time to pull this one out, it's close enough to Christmas, it's almost October! (Shout out to the T family for thier shared appreciation of this movie!!)
4. Mamma Mia - Are we sensing a theme here? Yes another musical, but this one is a new one. I have only seen it once, but that was enough to know that I LOVE it!! I cannot wait until this one comes out on DVD, I will be buying it the day it comes out! It's got the music of ABBA, and all their best songs! I am the Dancing Queen!
5. X-Men Trilogy - Yes I am that dork. I just can't help myself, I love these movies, they are so great. I actually love any and all super hero movies. Spiderman, Ironman, Hulk, The Fantastic Four, Elektra. There is just something about them, I could watch them again and again. The X-Men are my favorite though because you get so many heros in just one movie. They are supposed to be coming out with a movie just about Wolverine, I hope it happens!
6. Legends of the Fall - Umm hello, 2 words, Brad Pitt. On top of this being a great movie, it also features Brad Pitt in his absolute prime. It's one of those great epic romance dramas that cause us all to swoon. I can still remember seeing this in the theater with bossychick (Ellliottt, lol). We also had the poster of Brad from this movie up in our bedroom, LOVELY!!
7. Sweet Home Alabama - This one holds a special place in my heart as it was the first movie that I went to with my hubby on our first date ever. We were married exactly 1 year from the first time I saw this movie! I also LOVE Reese Witherspoon, and obviously the whole southern theme is a page right out of our book here in chickville!!! Besides who in their right mind doesn't love that song?
8. Elf - Another Christmas movie, yes I love Christmas! This is a delightfully quotable movie, and caused me to fall in love with the song, Baby It's Cold Oustide. It's heartwarming, with lots of comedy. A definite classic for the new generation of Christmas movies!!! Shocking.....
9. Moulin Rouge - If you get down to the nitty gritty the whole premis of this movie is pretty trashy, but it is oh so well disguised under all the color and singing and dancing. I love how this movie uses modern day songs and makes them sound like a musical. I actually saw this movie 6 times in the theater, yes I was a little sad, lol. This movie brings back fond memories of when I lived in California, and my friends from there, aww, a tear.
10. Titanic & Pearl Harbor - I know that a lot of people probably think I'm weird for loving movies that make tragic events into Hollywood gold, but I love the stories that lie behind the tragedy. Again these are both epic romance dramas that lures me like a moth to a flame. I watched Pearl Harbor just a few weeks ago with all of its love triangle delishisness. It was at about 3 weeks postpartum and yes, I cried.
So that is my list, it is in no particular order, but these are all movies that I could watch again and again.
Now it's your turn to tell me what movies make your day!
