by singerchick~ I have a funny story to share (sort of ) involving my oldest chicklet. On Wednesday nights we arrive at church early; probably about an hour to an hour and a half before service. While hubby and I are getting ready for service, the chicklets usually have a little bit of free reign. They feel right at home wondering around and "helping" others do things such as water plants, make coffee on Sunday mornings and operate the sound. Oh and I can't forget getting tic tacs from pappy's office and making sure that everyone else gets a tic tac as well. Occasionally I can get Little Man to sit in the nursery with "mancy" but usually he bucks that to wonder around with his bubba.
Anyway, I digress. Last Wednesday just before service I was rounding up my chicklets to get them to their class when I noticed that Big Man only had on one flip flop. I asked him where his other one was and he said he didn't know. While I'm looking around real quick for the missing flop, I'm wondering how a child walks right out of his shoe and doesn't even realize it . I didn't find it and didn't have time to continue the search so my one shoe wearer went to his class not bothered in the least by his bare foot.
Fast forward to after service. Mr. Singer looks around a bit for the missing flip flop and I sit Big Man down for a chat. I tell him to think real hard and tell me where he saw his shoe last. He gets real serious and says "I went upstairs to see "Ms. Secretary", then I sat at the computer , wrote my name, my shoe fell off and I just lost it. I couldn't help but laugh a little bit because we had looked all around that computer and everywhere upstairs and it was nowhere to be found. I continued to question him and he kept saying the same thing. I really wish I had a recording of our conversation because it was quite humorous. Finally, I concluded that he just didn't know.
We were getting ready to head home and just count the shoe as a loss when I thought I'd check upstairs one more time. I looked all around that computer thinking Big Man wouldn't make up the whole computer thing when finally the shoe caught my eye. It was behind the computer all tangled up in the wires suspended mid air. That explains Big Man's story and it explains why no one could find the darn flip flop. Case solved.
So listen to your kids. May sound a little odd, but there's some truth to what they say.
That is cute! He knew exactly where he left it didn't he?

What was funny was watching you have this conversation with him. You would of probably had better luck talking to a search and rescuedog. lol!

so funny! reminds me of a story of a mom who was looking for her car keys. when she asked her toddler if he had seen them he kept saying, "keys in michigan." frustrated she asked again. Again he said, "keys in michigan."
She found the keys in the car's ignition and when she opened the door she heard the car's electronics saying, "keys in ignition."
ha! if we only knew what they heck they ACTUALLY MEANT!
