by Singer Chick~ I don't have anything insightful, funny or inspiring today so I'll just write about what's been going on at the singer household. You've heard the expression when it rains it pours. Well, it's pouring over here and I'm ready for the sun to come out. It started with some pricey truck repairs on the Mr.'s truck. Well, that was not fun, but doable. Then the weld on his tail pipe broke again for the 500th time and that'll cost us.
Sunday night he couldn't find his jacket as we were heading home. No big deal. Someone probably took it home by mistake and we can get it later. No worries. Wrong! When we got in the car he realized that his wallet was in that jacket with a nice little chunk of cash inside. It was a fun night for us. We made a list of everyone that had been at the church event and began to call each one. We got a hold of everyone but two couples and no one had the jacket. Well, what do you know, the person we didn't get a hold of had the jacket and we found out the next day when we were able to get her cell phone number and call her. (love you Ms. Laura) Needless to say, we made it through that, but there was some praying going on Sunday night. I mean, we've got 2 part time jobs here. We couldn't afford to loose that cash. Praise God! We got it back!
The next fiasco was our computer getting some kind of spy ware and totally kicking us out. We couldn't even log on. I don't know what happened. All I know was it got sick and we had to get it fixed. Ch-Ching, that's another chunk of money!
We totally believe that we're in this season (this stormy season) for a reason. God wants us to learn something and I told Mr. Singer that I'm ready to learn it all ready!! I know I've been praying for heaven to rain down on us, but this is not exactly what I meant.
Seriously though, I know that God is in control and he has never and never will forsake us. We are blessed beyond measure!!
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
On another note, we're leaving for a quick vacation this weekend. My prayer is that we have a safe trip and that things go smoothly and we can get a little R&R. However, I'm not sure if the R&R part is possible on a family vacation with a 3.5 yr old and a 21 month old. I think that we will be borrowing Uncle T's dvd player...please!
