by cubanchick~ so much like everyone else, i've been working like crazy lately. between tutoring and teaching my days are left to about two hours for me. for the last week or so, i've been making random trips to destin. i'm at work and get a visit from mom. grandma's sick and not doing well. turns out she had a stroke and has advanced stages of dimensia (i'm not sure what this is about). so after several transfusions, she's laughing and talking to the best of her current ability. a sigh of relief. you can feel the joy in the room!
jump to the night she's about to be taken to a rehab center. while the doctor is in the room, grandpa's eyes get red, blood pours from his nose and he's rushed to ER! oh my goodness. he had a blood pressure surge up to 230 over something. thank God for his protecting hand. doc said most people would have had brain bleeding with pressures that high. eventually they receded and the cause: emotions. it was kind of funny to hear that he was banned from seeing grandma for a few days. once again..thank God he and grandma are doing well.
so that was a slight emotional roller coaster. for anyone who has been fortunate enough to have alll their grandparents..the thought of losing the first one..oh my! not to take away from losing anyone period.
so to the point of this blog: we have monday off, so we decided to take off today and have a nice long weekend to catch up and relax. we are really staying busy, but that is just in efforts to catch up. and that in itself is a break. who thought folding clothes would be relaxing.. it is! you don't have to think, you just move about in a robotic fashion. my mom would have loved for that philosophy a few years back!
well enjoy your time off!! we are praying for your family.
