by Sassy Chick ~ I love bacon. I love sausage, hamburgers and steak so believe me when I say, Atkins is my kind of meal plan.
Unfortunately, I equally love candy, desserts, bread (oh glorious Olive Garden breadsticks, you will be the death of me) and almost everything made with white flour and sugar. Which is the very reason I am required to stay on Atkins, forever or at least until I’m so old no one cares what my body looks like anyways. I do find it an injustice that God wasted perfectly good metabolism on men.
So this morning, I had eggs with cheese, a lot of sausage and coffee. Goina’ kill me you say? Well, at least I’ll die skinny. If you polled women and they where truly honest, if given the choice between being really big and living ‘till 80 and being skinny and dying a little earlier they’d choose the latter. Sad my friend, but true. All I can think is if Tyra Banks has cellulite, do we really have any hope?
After losing a little over 100 lbs. with Atkins after my first baby, I had a doctor look me in my eye and say, “You know that diet isn’t healthy.” Duly noted. I figured it was either Atkins or the inability to breath after hauling my big butt up the stairs. I chose Atkins. How inconsiderate of me. In the years that followed, I have had several doctors take turns between Atkins being a form of devil worship to the greatest thing since sliced bread. In my opinion, everyone’s got one. Even with doctors, you get to choose which one you like.
I will press on, with Photo Chick at my side. I will not, however stand beside Mr. Photo Chick who has lost an insane amount of weight. I’m not supporting him until he weighs more than me. Ridiculous.
what's really funny is when it became such a fad a while back. people thought it was something new and talking about how it's a fad and everything and doesn't really work. my dad has done it off and on since i was six, which, according to the age my doctor insists i am . . . means that it's NOT new!
it's like every other diet . . . it works while you do it, and if you go back to atrocious eating habits afterward . . . you gain it back. it ain't rocket science folks.
i do get it. i just don't like it! :-P
