by Sassy Chick ~ It’s Friiiiiday…I am so haaaaappy…Ok. Who knew that a day of the week could bring such joy? But let me tell you, Friday does that for me. It would be even better if the weekend wasn’t slam packed with a thousand things to do, plus my boys start back to school on Monday.
Yeah that’s right folks, summer is officially over. It is insane to me how fast that went by. And now I have a first grader and a K4’er. What I'm looking forward to the most on Monday is the return to schedule, what I’m dreading is the onslaught of homework. And my friends, it is coming. I can feel the vibrations from the ground as the monster sneaks up behind us.
I know I’m not the first parent to experience this, so save it. I know I’m not special and I know we “all” have to go through it, but lord in heaven, I knew there was a reason I was counting the seconds down ‘till I was out of high school. They never mention it comes right back around and attacks you when you least expect it. As a matter of fact, I think someone needs to be held responsible for killing the dream that I was finished with school.
Guess what else I’ve learned. I’m not that smart. According to my son’s school, in phonics, I’m on about a 1st grade level. In math – I’ve mastered preschool. Which makes me not so qualified to help my children with their homework.
As a matter of fact, it actually makes me wonder if I should inform my employer that he might want to rethink my job status.
i don't even want to think about it. i just held my breath until i finished school with hopes that i'd never have to study again. (which, by the way, surely seems like just yesterday)
i guess the joke's on me. :-)

I have one more week than you, but oh the homework, and this year brings the 3rd grade, I'm pretty sure I will flunk this year!
