by singerchick~ So you probably get tired of the kid stories, but it's what I've got. I've got kids and they make our lives pretty fun. At least we think so. So here's another story. Those of you with older kids have experienced similar situations, probably worse and those of you with younger ones, it's coming.
The other night we were getting ready to say our prayers and get the kids in bed so we were all kind of hanging out doing the "bedtime things". You know how it goes. "I need to go to the bathroom." or "I need a sip of water." or "I want to change pajamas." (or actually wear pajamas in our case.) And then there's mama waiting on daddy and the boys to STOP wrestling......I digress, but you get the point. Anything to prolong the inevitable bed time.
So we're waiting for Big Man to finish using the bathroom for the second time when he says while holding up his middle finger, "Daddy, this means a bad word." No we were not prepared for this and yes we were a little shocked. Mr. Singer says, "Yes son and don't do that. You'll get in trouble." He gives me a look as if to say what else do we say and I give him a look that says I don't have a clue, please make it stop and let me have my tiny boy back.
Mr. Singer asks Big Man who told him about that and I'm thinking yes, I need a name stat. He said his friend at school and he can't remember his name. Of course you can't. Then Big Man says, "And I know what it means."
I'm looking at Mr. Singer and my eyes are screaming, DON'T ASK and you know what he does? He asks. "What does it mean son?
I'm holding my breath. Mr. Singer is holding his breath and Big Man answers.
"It means get away!"
You could hear the exhale of breath from the both of us and Mr. Singer said, "Yeah, but maybe a little worse than that.
I'm sure you readers who are parents have stories like this where your child's piers have influenced your child and cause your child to shock you. Please share so that we can be prepared for what our future holds.
