by socialchick~ We sing a song at church that I love. We don't sing it very much but we sang it yesterday and Holy Spirit started ministering to me. Through this song God taught me so much and I thought that I would share it with you. The song is Dance With Me by Evan Earwicker. Here are the words.
many songs will fade away
but few things will remain
melodies and harmonies will change
melodies and harmonies will change
but i'm hearing a new song
but i'm hearing a new song
i'm beginning to hear the angels cry 'holy'
oh, love song of God rising in me
and i'm surrounded by You, here in Your glory
oh, love song of God rising in me
i want to be romanced by the King of the Ages
i don't want to sing of a passion i've never known
i want to get lost in the beauty of Jesus
To dance through the night around Your throne
so dance with me
dance with me
A lot of times we sing this song and think that we should physicaly dance with God. And although I physicaly believe in dancing Holy Spirit lead me to something different this time.
I have never taken dance lessons but I know that there is more to it than getting out on the dance floor and dancing. You have to trust your partner. You have to let the man lead. Sometimes dance is slow and intimate and sometimes it is fun and fast. It is something you have to practice. It doesn't just come over night.
This is what God wants us to do with our spiritual walk. We are to trust God in every aspect whether or not he is twirling us or throwing us in the air. Do we trust him with everything in our lives. Do we trust him enough to let him lead? Do we trust Him enough to know that when things aren't going our way it is still his will?
Sometimes we need to be held tight and taken through our obasacles very slowly. We need to feel that intimate touch. Other times we need to have fun and express ourselves in a loud and fun way. We need to dance with our Heavenly Father in every area of our lives. Are you willing to dance with God this morning?
This is the only audio I could find. Sorry! Just listen to the words.

This post brought to mind a poem/song that I thought related to what the Holy Spirit was showing you. May it speak to you like it has to me.
Lord I'd ask you to come but
You're already here
I can feel you in the air and with all of my tears.
Lord I'd ask you to come but
You're already here
I can feel you take my hand and take the lead
Lord I'd ask you to come but
You're already here
The dance has begun and my heart knows no fear
Lord I'd ask you to come but
You're already here
I'm lost in your ways in the deepths of this embrace
Lord I'd ask you to come but
You're already here
You speak to my soul with rhythms unknown to any other than me.

Thanks for sharing, this and yesterday's sermon were so good, just what I needed to hear.

My favorite line of that entire song is:
I want to be romanced by the King of the Ages
I don't want to sing of a passion i've never known
Oh that one phrase sums up OUR entire life. What is the point of worshipping a God we have never truly known, to walk through life without feeling the passion for him that we so often talk about.
That line got me. I am so thankful we get to know the passion we speak of.
